Really good authentic Japanese bakery and cafe. Everything was fresh, and the pastries were almost too cute to eat. I got the matcha sweet cream cold brew and it was really good too. Definitely a nice little spot and we’ll be back to try more.

I am in love with this Japanese Bakery! After spending almost a month in Japan, I've been trying to find a honest-to-goodness authentic Japanese Bakery with real ingredients and taste from Japan, and not some over-sugared Americanized version. The Loaf is it. Just have one bite of that salted butter roll, and if you're like me, you be transported back to those wonderful underground train station cafes dotting Tokyo and across Japan. I just love how the taste melts in your mouth, and yet stays light and fluffy. The Matcha Mochi An-pan pastry with its matcha flavored bun filled with red bean and mochi is another classic flavor combination. Warm, moist, and so delicious. There are so many flavors that The Loaf is worth the multiple visits!

I really ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ this bakery. Unfortunately, I live 20 miles away. I would recommend anyone who wants to experience the true taste of Japanese "PAN" go to The Loaf, especially if you live in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Kevin and I finally stopped by The Loaf Japanese Bakery in Newhall after it was recommended to us, and I can’t believe we waited so long! If you’re looking for a cozy bakery in Newhall or a cute coffee and pastry spot in Santa Clarita, this place is such a gem. From the moment we walked in, it felt warm, inviting, and authentic. It’s a smaller space and was a bit busy, but that honestly added to the charm. Everything smelled incredible, and you can tell everything is made with care. We ordered the matcha square croissant, and it was one of the most unique pastries I’ve had. The outside was perfectly crisp and flaky, while the inside was soft and buttery. The matcha filling was smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced not overly sweet, just perfect. And the little heart detail on top? So cute and such a thoughtful touch. For drinks, I got the matcha sea salt cold brew and Kevin ordered a taro tea. Both were smooth, flavorful, and so good we wished we had ordered more. I’m so happy I found this Japanese cafe because they make my favorite banana matcha, the one I’d happily drive all the way from Los Angeles for 😍 The pastries are always super fresh and delicious too.
